Abstract

A floormat insertable into the foot space of a passenger motor car, which prevents passage of both damp and dirt to the floor space of the motor vehicle while having a fully aesthetic appearance, and from which, moreover, a sound insulating effect will also be achieved, comprises a carpet-type material portion (3) moulded into a stiff plastics portion (2) formed in the shape of a trough, on the foot-receiving side of the plastics portion and over substantially its full area. In particular the side edges (4) of the material portion (3) are covered over by the plastics material of the plastics portion (2), and preferably a material layer (5) of polyurethane foam is moulded-in on the underside of the plastics portion (2). <IMAGE> [GB2228408A]
