Abstract

A pilferproof closure, especially for use with non-refillable fitments, comprises a cap (1, 2) screw-threadedly attached to a container or a non-refillable fitment (4) affixed thereto, an annular frangible ring (3) rotationally connectable with the cap, e.g. by cooperating ribs (16, 34), and means (40) on the container or the member (4) causing breakage of the ring (3) upon rotation of the cap. When the cap is unscrewed, the annular ring is unscrewed with it until fractured by means of lugs (40) on the member (4). This indicates tampering. [WO8303810A1]
