Abstract
A disposable diaper having elasticized crotch seals formed from elastic members 34, 36 secured to the backing sheet 22 within 0.75 inch (1.9 cms) of the absorbent pad 26 and under such tension as to eliminate transverse pleats in the crotch area while minimizing the size of the crotch seals. <IMAGE>
