Abstract

The azacyclyl(thio)ureidoacetamidocephem compounds of the formula <IMAGE> in which R1 is hydrogen, halogen, etherified hydroxyl or mercapto, or a radical -CH2-C(=O)R6 in which R6 is hydrogen, hydroxyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkyl or optionally substituted amino, R2 is hydroxyl or an etherified hydroxyl group which, together with the group -C=O, forms an esterified carboxyl group -C(=O)-OR5 which can be cleaved under physiological conditions, R3 is hydrogen, an optionally substituted, unsaturated cyclic hydrocarbon radical or heterocyclyl, X is oxygen or sulphur, n is 1 or 2, R4 is hydrogen, an optionally substituted lower aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical or acyl and Y is lower alkylene separating the nitrogen atoms by two carbon atoms, salts of salt- forming compounds of the formula I, and isomers thereof, are prepared in a manner known per se, e.g. by introducing the acyl group into a corresponding 7ss-amino-3-cephem compound and have antibiotic activity and can be used for controlling infections.
