Abstract

Penem compounds of the formula I are described. The definitions of the substituents X, Y and Z can be taken from Patent Claim 1. They can be obtained by cyclisation of compounds of the formula II in which R<''> is an ester protective group, followed by removal of this protective group in cases where Z denotes hydrogen.
