Abstract

To protect coastlines, offshore structures or other marine structures from being struck by drifting ships, a protective barrier comprises a plurality of lines 6 which are supported adjacent the water surface by floats 3 and 7 and some of the floats 7 are moored to the seabed by anchor lines 4 of synthetic fibres.
