6''-Deoxykanamycin B and 6''-deoxytobramycin are prepared in a 5-stage process from kanamycin B by dehydroxylation in position 6'' and 3', 6'' respectively. These semisynthetic derivatives of kanamycin B are valuable antibacterial agents. [GB1523634A]
