Abstract

The rim is for use on a wheel designed to protect the vehicle in the event of a tyre bursting, and has a base with a flange on either side, also seating on each side for the beads of the tyre. - An opening is formed between the bead seatings, extending radially with sidewalls towards the inside of them. Seatings, base and opening are of steel. A blocking component fits in the opening and is located by components preventing it expanding in the radial or peripheral direction. The blocking component also has portions engaging behind the edge of the opening so as to locate it in relation to the rim. These cn be in the form of bosses bearing against the sidewalls of the opening. [DE2461693A1]
