1457950 Antibacterial compositions MERCK & CO INC 22 July 1974 [10 Aug 1973 13 June 1974] 32360/74 Addition to 1421023 Heading A5B [Also in Division C2] Antibacterial compositions comprise as active ingredients a mixture of 3-fluoro-D-alanine, 2-deutero-3-fluoro-D-alanine, 2, 3-dideutero-3- fluoro-D-alanine, 2, 3, 3-trideutero-3-fluoro-D- alinine, a C 1-5 alkyl ester thereof or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, with a 3- fluoro-D-alanine. autoantagonist-inhibitor comprising an isoxazolidinone compound of formula in which R is hydrogen or methyl, and each of X, Y and Z is hydrogen or alkyl, or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof. The compositions may be administered orally or parenterally in the form of capsules, tablets, solutions or suspensions.
