Abstract

1365040 Container P FERRERO & C SpA 30 March 1973 [11 April 1972] 15509/73 Heading B8P In a container comprising a body portion 1 and a hollow plastics plug 4 having a rectangular opening 9 which is closable by a hinged flap 10, the plug includes a recess 12 for the free end of the flap and a mortise 14 of dove-tail crosssection at the bottom of the recess 12 for snapengagement with a complementary tenon 13 on the underside of the flap. The plug includes a peripheral shoulder 8 which bears on the top edge of the body portion. When the flap is closed, its free edge projects beyond the periphery of the plug. The thickness of the flap may be gradually reduced toward its hinged connection with the plug. The lateral edges of the opening 9 and the flap may be complementarily chamfered and the surface (17, Fig. 8) of the tenon (13<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 8) facing the hinged connection may be upwardly and inwardly inclined and spaced outwardly of, when the flap is closed, a wall (18, Fig. 8) which is similarly inclined and defines the inward boundary of the mortise (14<SP>1</SP>).
