1452768 Deodorizing using propionic acid PHILAGRO SA 31 Oct 1973 [3 Nov 1972 29 Jan 1973 16 April 1973] 50612/73 Heading ASE [Also in Division C1] A method for controlling odours evolved during the fermentation of organic matter comprises applying to the locus where control is desired, propionic acid and/or a metal salt thereof (e.g. the Cu salt) optionally in admixture with another organic aliphatic acid such as formic, acetic or butyric acid. Other optional ingredients are bactericides such as hydroxyquinoline derivatives, benzaldehyde, deodorants and phosphoric acid derivatives. The method may be used to treat insanitary buildings, refuse chutes, stable litter and liquid dung in pits. [GB1452768A]
