Abstract

1426242 Tyre pressure indicator INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 7 March 1973 [8 March 1972] 11083/73 Heading B7C Apparatus for indicating-lack of pressure in a tyre 1 (Fig. 1) on a rotating wheel comprises two coils 8, 9 (Fig. 6) on a rotating part 3<SP>1</SP>, which couple during each revolution with a transmitter coil 2 and a receiver coil 6 on a non-rotating part 3. When the tyre pressure is below :a preset value the circuit for coils 8, 9 is closed by a switch 11 associated with the air pressure valve K, and the resulting voltage induced in coil 6 is amplified at 7 and fed to alarms 40, 41. The four receiver coils 6 of.four wheels may be connected in parallel to the alarm circuit via manual switches 15-18, whereby the deflated tyre energizing the alarm is identifiable. In another embodiment the switches 11 are normally closed so that amplifier 7 receives four bursts of oscillations for each revolution of the wheel, but only three if a switch 11 is opened by a deflated tyre.
