Abstract

A slidable gate construction for use as a closure on a bottom-pour vessel, such as a ladle or tundish used for pouring liquid metal. The novel feature is that the upper face of the gate is convex when viewed in cross section. The underface of the top plate has a mating concave face. [US3786969A]
