Abstract
1418935 Drying moulded articles GIULINI GmbH Gebr 16 March 1973 [17 March 1972] 12843/73 Heading F4G A process for drying a moulded gypsum article 5 in sheet form comprises drying the article in contact with, or by radiant heat from, a heated surface held at a temperature of 50-170 C. The apparatus used by the process may have a number of heating surfaces 6 between which a number of articles 5 to be dried can be interposed, means for heating the surfaces, and means for moving the heating surfaces from one heat supply point to another or for moving articles after drying away from the heating surfaces. A conveyer may be provided for moving the articles away from the heating surfaces. At least two sets of heating surfaces may be provided so that the articles may be first subjected to heat at one temperature and then subjected to heat at a lower temperature. The heating surfaces may be planar. The temperature of the heated surface or surfaces may be 90 to 160 C., and may be continuously reduced or reduced stepwise during the drying process.
