Abstract
1389856 Crystallizing fructose SUOMEN SOKERI OSAKEYHTIO 3 March 1972 [11 March 1971] 10129/72 Heading B1G [Also in Division C2] Figure 6 depicts a continuous crystalliser for obtaining fructose crystals of size 200- 600Ám starting from an aqueous saturated fructose solution containing at least 90wt% of dry substance which in turn comprises at least 90wt% of fructose. In the first section, a continuous stream of seed crystals suspended in said saturated aqueous fructose solution is contacted with a continuous stream of fructose solution (saturated or slightly unsaturated) under cooling such that the crystals of fructose grow to the size indicated without substantial formation of new crystals. A second and, optionally, further section(s) repeat the process of the first section.
