Abstract

1419373 Wood preservative PROTIM & GALLWEY LTD 21 Nov 1972 [21 Oct 1971] 49087/71 Heading A5E [Also in Division D1] A wood preservative comprises at least 89% by volume organic solvent, e.g. white spirit, 0.4 to 0.6% by volume of fatty acid ester formed from a long chain fatty acid having at least 8C atoms in the chain and a long chain alcohol having at least 8C atoms in the chain, and a wood preserving agent. The fatty acid ester may be stearyl laurate, myristyl myristate or lauryl palmitate. The preservative may also contain pentachlorophenol, benzene hexachloride, tributyl tin oxide and resin. The preservative can be applied to wood by double vacuum impregnation. [GB1419373A]
