1344792 α - L - Aspartyl - L - phenylalanine alkyl esters AJINOMOTO CO Inc 30 June 1972 [9 July 1971] 30867/72 Addition to 1309605 Heading C2C An α- L - aspartyl - L - phenylalanine C 1-4 alkyl ester is prepared by reacting a strong acid salt of L-aspartic anhydride with a C 1-4 alkyl ester of phenylalanine in the presence of an inorganic acid having a dissociation constant determined at 25‹ C. or a first dissociation constant determined at 25‹ C. less than 3 x 10<SP>-2</SP> or in the presence of an oxide capable of forming said inorganic acid in the presence of water and separating the desired ester from the #-L- aspartyl-L-phenylalanine C 1-4 alhyl ester also produced.
