Abstract

1390507 Receptacles for growing plants FISONS Ltd 21 April 1972 [19 May 1971] 15843/71 Heading A1E A vessel for the growing of plants, particularly of tomatoes in greenhouses, comprises an elongated sack made from paper or synthetic resin sheeting, containing plant growth medium, and provided with a longitudinal flapped aperture through which seeds or plants can be planted and can grow. Alternatively the sack may carry markings indicating where such a flap is to be cut. The flap is rectangular and is cut with its longitudinal axis generally along the centre line of the container wall. While in transit it may have a temporary paper or plastics closure strip. The sack is coloured so as to provide reflected lighting for the plants, and it has drainage apertures. The plant growth medium may be sand, vermiculite, particulate plastics foam, peat, or compost, and may contain plant growth nutrients. [GB1390507A]
