Abstract

A compost comprises a mixture of moss peat and sewage sludge, one or both constituents or the mixture having been sterilized by heating with steam in a plastics bag, which may be sealed. The sludge may be in the form of a slurry or may be dried and ground. Other ingredients may be sand, fertilizer, or bonding agent. The mixture may be moulded into a block or the like.
