Abstract

1357541 Producing refractory moulds IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 April 1971 [16 March 1970 11 Dec 1970 (2)] 12544/70 59032/70 and 59046/70 Heading B5A [Also in Divisions Cl and C3] Moulds are prepared by building up around an expendable pattern, e.g. of wood, a slurry containing a refractory material and a complex phosphate binding agent. The pattern is coated with wax or petroleum jelly, the slurry applied and if necessary other solid materials may be stuccoed on top. The process may be repeated until the required thickness is built up, the mould dried and fired. [GB1357541A]
