Compounds of the class of 4-cyano-5-alkoxymethylenamino-3-(5-nitro-2-furyl)-pyrazole have antimicrobial properties and are active ingredients in pharmaceutical compositions and animal feedstuff compositions; an illustrative example is 4-cyano-5-ethoxymethylenamino-1-methyl-3-(5-nitro-2-furyl)-pyrazole.
