Abstract

Oil sludge is processed using Dendrobena hortensis. Desiccated manure contg. 50% water is mixed with 40wt.% max. pref. 10wt.% of oil-sludge. A C-rich cpd. is added and pref. cattle-manure is mixed with sawdust at ratio of 3:1-6:1. Resulting mix is primarily ripened and is pref. inoculated by bacteria during the second stage of ripening i.e., when the inner temp. of the ripening worm substrate falls below 50 deg.C. Following a ripening period of at least 8 weeks a min. of 50cm high foundation layer is placed on an area covered by plastic sheeting. - Inocculated stratum is placed on this foundation, that contains varying age worms capable of ensuring a min. population density of 5000 worms/m2, 5-20cm thick prepd. worm nutrient layer is added every 15 days to this stack.
