Abstract

The magnets are prepared from a mixture of Y-Ba-Cu-O by conventional high pressure stamping, forming rings of 4.5-5 cm outside diameter, 2.2-2.4 inside diameter, 0.3-0.5 cm thickness. The rings are electrically insulated from each other and are placed on top of each other. The superconducting rings are cooled in the outside magnetic field to below the critical temperature, thus providing energy savings.
