Abstract

PURPOSE:To smooth starting while enabling high-efficiency operation at the time of high speed by using a cryostat as a solid rotor on starting and employing the superconductive material of a secondary conductor at the time of high speed. CONSTITUTION:A surface on the rotor side of a cryostat 1 is form ed of a conductive material, and a secondary conductor 2 in concentrated winding is set up into the cryostat l by employing a superconductive material. The cryostat 1 not only is used for cooling the secondary conductor 2 but also is employed as a solid rotor on starting, and the secondary conductor 2 is opened previously, thus resulting in smooth starting. After starting is completed, the secondary conductor 2 is connected for synchronized operation with a coil in concentrated winding.
