Abstract

Process for in vitro growing of potato microtubers which comprises cultivation of cuttings in a nutrient soil base which is enriched with a carbon source and contains mineral salts and 0.01-5 mg/l medium of adenine as biologically active substance to stimulate tuber formation, with direct exposure to the light from a lamp as follows; for the first 5-7 days, an exposure time of more than 12 hrs., and in the next 2-3 months repeating cycles of a 1 day dark period and successive 2-5 day long exposure times of 4-6, 6-10 and 10-18 hrs. per day, with subsequent harvesting of the tubers.
