Abstract
Flax, hemp or jute meshes used as electrodes are impregnated with a crosslinkable soln. of a polyester resin in which graphite is dispersed to render it conductive. The solvent used cures simultaneously. The cured mesh is intimately attached to a large damp surface. Dampness is removed by applying an external electric current to the mesh, once the structures are dry the external electric source is removed. The mesh is either earthed or short-circuited to prevent renewed dampness.
