Abstract
Gas and vapour removal from harmful waste water comprises using a de-gasser tank (4) and an adsorber tank (6). The degasser tank (4) is fitted with a support grid (5), supporting the plastic fill (5a), made up of cylindrical elements (1). The surface of the elements is provided with rows of rectangular perforations (2). Some of the elements are provided with a rough plastic coating (3). Above and below the fill there is a gas space (9) and water space (10) respectively. The adsorber tank (6) contains a grid (8), supporting the adsorber fill (7). According to the proposed method waste water is routed through the de-gasser tank (4). The de-gassed water is removed from its water space (10). The liberated gases and vapours are routed into the adsorber tank (6), where they are adsorbed in the fill (7). The de-gasser fill (5a) is regenerated from time-to-time by water washing. The adsorber fill (7) is replaced when exhausted.
