Abstract
Acid waste is made harmless by heating in the presence of 0.1-5 wt.% catalyst to 400-650 deg C in a closed space. The gases generated during this process are discharged through an adsorber. The treated acid waste is cooled and mixed with a filler material in the ratio 1:0.1-0.5. A preparation is added to it, at 5-60 wt.% containing clay minerals, compost and/or peat or other cellulose containing material, in some cases artificial fertiliser and bacterial mixture. The mixture is spread out, allowed to stand then collected in heaps to form compost.
