A találmány eljárás postai küldeményre felvitt digitálisbérmentesítési jel hitelességének ellenőrzésére, amelynek során abérmentesítési jelben levő kriptográfiai információkat visszafejtik,és a bérmentesítési jel hitelességének ellenőrzésére használják fel.Egy ellenőrzőegységgel részellenőrzések lefolyását vezérelik, ahol egyelső részellenőrzés folyamán beolvassák egy, a digitálisbérmentesítési jelben levő mátrixkódot, az ellenőrzőegységgel vezérlika mátrixkód tartalmának felbontását, a részellenőrzéseket ellenőrzésilépésekként hajtják végre, több ellenőrzéskérés, valamint ezekkelpárhuzamosan az ellenőrzési lépések egy részének egyidejűvégrehajtására alkalmas ellenőrzőegységet alkalmazzák, az ellenőrzésilépésekkel feltárják a jogosulatlanul előállított bérmentesítésijeleket, az ellenőrzés eredményét digitális üzenetként közlik, ésezzel egy küldeményt kizárnak a postai küldemények normálfeldolgozásának menetéből.
