Eljárás teljesítményveszteség mérésére száloptikai csatlakozóban,amely elsősorban 1 kW-ot meghaladó nagy optikai teljesítményátvitelére szolgáló optikai üvegszálat (3) tartalmaz, amelynek soránaz optikai üvegszál (3) magján kívüli beeső sugárzást legalább részbenfolyékony hűtőközegben (2) abszorbeálják, és a folyékony hűtőközeg (2)beömlése és kiömlése közötti hőmérséklet-különbséget a fellépettteljesítményveszteség mértékeként detektálják. Készülékteljesítményveszteség mérésére száloptikai csatlakozóban, amelykülönösen 1 kW-ot meghaladó nagy optikai teljesítmény átviteléreszolgáló optikai üvegszálat (3) tartalmaz, továbbá az optikai üvegszál(3) magján kívüli beeső sugárzást legalább részben abszorbeálófolyékony hűtőközeggel (2) és a csatlakozó a folyékony hűtőközeg (2)beömlése és kiömlése közötti hőmérséklet-különbséget a keletkezettteljesítményveszteség mértékeként detektáló eszközzel van ellátva.
