Digitális jelátviteli rendszerben küldött adatokat ellenőrző eljárássorán az adatokat elküldésük előtt legalább egy gyökérkönyvtár (75)egységből, alkönyvtár (76) egységből, valamint fájl adat egységből(77) álló hierarchiába szervezik; az egy fájl adat egységben (77) lévőadatokat egy ellenőrző algoritmus szerint megvizsgálják, és avonatkozó alkönyvtárban (76) egy ehhez társított fájl ellenőrzőértéket (82) eltárolnak, majd ezt az eltárolt fájl ellenőrző értéket(82) egy ellenőrző algoritmus szerint szintén megvizsgálják, és egyehhez társított alkönyvtár ellenőrző értéket (79) a vonatkozógyökérkönyvtár (75) egységben eltárolnak.
