Description

The present invention relates to novel cosmetic compositions, preferably to skin care, skin regeneration, body care compositions and to a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of acne vulgaris.

N-acetyl-L-cysteine is known to be useful in the treatment of respiratory diseases, particularly bronchopulmonary disorders (see, for example, Issekutz B: Drug Order, Medicina Publisher, Budapest, 1979, 328-329).

It is also known from the cosmetic literature and patents that L-cysteine, its salts or its close derivatives (see CA 92 152 902 h) and Na-cysteine S-sulfonate or its derivatives (see CA 106 182 457 s), and homocysteine or its esters (see CA 110 121 091 d) have already been used in cosmetic formulations. In these formulations, the active ingredient is used in combination with excipients known per se.

In our large series of experiments on L-cysteine and its derivatives, it has been surprisingly discovered that a cysteine derivative that has never been used for cosmetic purposes, namely N-acetyl-L-cysteine, exhibits an outstandingly superior effect over other derivatives. It has been found that N-acetyl-L-cysteine effectively promotes cell regeneration, inhibits skin aging and wrinkling. It effectively dissolves dead cells, gently removes them and has a positive effect on living cells. The N-acetyl-L-cysteine-containing cosmetic product is rapidly absorbed, loosened and rubbed into the burned, burned, damaged epidermis.

Comparative experiments with known cosmetic formulations show that our formulations show unexpected, significant additional effects compared to other cysteine derivatives.

Our comparative experiments were conducted by dermatologist-physician and cosmetologist in a double-blind design for women and men aged 15-55 years.

The various active ingredients used in the experiments (see Table 1) were uniformly used at 2% by weight with the carriers and excipients described in Example 2 of the present invention. The exception is Helia-D Junior Cream, where we do not know the concentration of the active ingredient.

Evaluation was performed on 2 tests; in case I (see Table 2) we evaluated the average general skin with the cosmetic scoring system; (see Table 3), it was specifically evaluated on the skin of the acne vulgaris patient by the physician's healing method. The treatments were performed every 3 days with a standard cosmetic "incorporation"

It was made on the 28th, 50th day. For each experiment, 5-5 individuals were enrolled, volunteering.

The invention further provides a process for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of acne vulgaris by using cosmetic vehicles and excipients known per se, comprising admixing 0.85% by weight of N-acetylcysteine as an active ingredient with 95-99.2% by weight of a vehicle and excipient. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, 1-2% by weight of N-acetylcysteine is formulated into a cream by mixing with 0.33.3% by weight of a mixture of vitamin and panthenol and 94,798.7% by weight of a known cosmetic cream component such as stearin, white wax and sunflower oil. .

Even poorly healing wounds and inflamed facial skin are advantageously treated with the compositions of the present invention. The composition of the present invention can also heal or repair eczema skin without the use of steroids.

Creams and lotions with moisturizing and skin regenerating properties according to the invention have a very beneficial effect on normal and dry skin. The creams are also useful for sunburn skin: they remove dead skin cells from the burned skin and promote the formation of fresh epithelial tissue. When used, the skin retains its elasticity and can be used as a wrap and as a sunscreen.

Creams and lotions for oily skin soothe, loosen and remove the corneal epidermis.

The composition of the present invention can reduce or eliminate acne vulgaris. In the case of inflamed and acneous skin, the acne, the deep acne is matured, healed, and prevented from developing in the short term.

The compositions of the present invention may be formulated with various fragrances (lemons, almonds, roses, etc.) in day and night cream, face and body lotions.

Claims (3)

PATENT CLAIMS Cosmetic composition, preferably skin care, skin regeneration and body care composition, characterized in that it contains 0.8-5% by weight of N-acetylcysteine and 95-99.2% by weight of a carrier and excipient known per se. 2. A process for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of acne vulgaris using cosmetic carriers and excipients known per se, characterized in that the active ingredient is mixed with 0.8-5% by weight of N-acetylcysteine with 95-99.2% by weight of a carrier and excipient. 3. A process according to claim 2, wherein the N-acetylcysteine is present in an amount of from 1 to 2% by weight and 98 to 99% by weight with a cosmetic cream component known per se and a biologically active substance used in cosmetics to form a face cream.
