Abstract

The mechanism for paraffin-coating and packing vine cuttings for grafting comprises an endless chain conveyor carrying spaced cutting supports which are laterally swivelable by two cams beside the conveyor to dip the cutting ends in a paraffin bath and a cooling bath by the other side whilst being held by resilient rollers on an endless belt over the conveyor. - Further endless belts with heating elements are arranged to either side of the conveyor below respective pressure rollers with resilient coverings whilst supply rolls with resilient tape arranged to either side above and below the conveyor are guided to receive the treated cuttings between them, the tapes being wound on a drum near the conveyor end.
