Abstract

A device for use in connection with a “soft” opening and later “soft” closing of a drawer in a furniture body. One or more rails (2, 3, 4) are mounted between the drawer and the furniture body. The device comprises a single, oblong, partly open housing (1) delimited by a first end member (7a) and a second end member (7b). The housing (1) is mounted on a furniture body or on a rail (2) secured thereon. A longitudinally displaceable damper cylinder (9) is mounted in said housing (1), said damper cylinder comprising a piston (8) with a piston rod (10), said piston (8) being provided with an auxiliary valve (37, 38). A first end part (9b) of the damper cylinder (9), and which is free of the piston rod (10), has an outer abutment face against which a first offsetable pin member (15), which is mounted substantially at the rear end of the drawer or on a longitudinally displaceable rail, abuts when the drawer is opened, while a second offsetable pin member (13), which is mounted substantially at the front end of the drawer, abuts a third end part (12) mounted on the outermost end of the piston rod (10), when the drawer is displaced towards the closed position thereof; the first end member (7a) and the second end member (7b) of the housing optionally being provided with a slot-like opening, (7a′) and (7b′), respectively, through which the first pin member (15) and the second pin member (13), respectively, optionally can pass in and out of the housing (1). In this way, a structurally very simple device is obtained, which can provide both a soft opening and a soft closing of the drawer in the furniture body.

Claims (10)

1. Device for use in connection with the "soft" opening and later with the "soft" closing of a drawer in the body of the furniture, and in which one rail, or several rails acting together, is mounted between the drawer and the body of the furniture and parallel to the longitudinal direction of the drawer, at where necessary, ball bearings can be provided between said rails, and wherein this device has only one oblong housing (1) which is mounted so as to be connected to the body of the furniture or to a rail (2) which is attached to it, and wherein is a longitudinally moving cylindrical silencer mounted in said housing (1), wherein said cylindrical silencer has a piston (8) with a connecting rod (10), wherein said piston (8) has at least one auxiliary valve (37, 38) , and wherein the area of the first end (9b) of the cylindrical muffler (9), which is free in relation to the piston rod (10), has a contact surface against which the first element is placed which has the shape of a rod (15) and which can be place - which is mounted mainly on the rear end of the drawer or on the rail (3) which can be moved in the longitudinal direction - and which is adapted to directly or indirectly rest on the third end part (12) which is mounted on the farthest end of the connecting rod ( 10) when the drawer is moved towards its closed position, wherein the housing (1) has a cross-section that is generally U-shaped and has a groove (28) that is open in the longitudinal direction, indicated by the fact that said housing has a first end element at its ends (7a) and the second end element (7b), each of which has an opening (7a ́, 7b ́), which openings have the shape of a slot and through which openings the first element, which has the shape of a rod (15), or the second element can pass to the outside which has the shape of a rod (13) 2. Device in accordance with one or more patent claims 1 to 7, characterized in that at least two channels (31, 32) are placed in the piston (8) in the damping cylinder (9), wherein said channels (31, 32) have auxiliary valves, for example, in the form of flap valves (37, 38) to throttle the flow of fluid through the channels. 9.
