Abstract

A water course barrage, more particularly a cofferdam, is composed of a vertical movable door (2) formed from one or more superposed individual panels (13, 14) sliding in a supporting structure (3) installed in the apron (4) of the said water course and comprising two parallel pillars (5, 6) consisting of U-sections, the parallel wings (10, 11) of which are directed towards the vertical mid-plane (12) of the said cofferdam, and furthermore sealing means (29) interposed between the downstream face (31) of the movable door (2) and the said pillars (5, 6) of the said supporting structure (3). To improve the sealing of this barrage or cofferdam, it also possesses elastic means (42) capable of exerting pressure on the panel or panels (13, 14) in order to cause the compression of the sealing means (29) located between these and the inner face (30) of the parallel wing (10), downstream of the water thrust, of the pillars (5, 6) of the supporting structure (3). <IMAGE>
