Abstract

Device for negative pressure therapy of wounds comprises (a) a covering material for hermetically sealing a wound area, (b) optionally a means for connecting a vacuum source, and (c) an open-cell polyurethane foam as a wound dressing, obtainable by reacting a mixture comprising the components (i) polyisocyanate,(ii) polyol, preferably polyester polyol, (iii) blowing agents, and (iv) catalyst, where the open-cell foam material after three days of storage in bovine serum has a tensile strength as measured according to DIN 53571, of 80-300 kPa. ACTIVITY : Vulnerary. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
