Abstract

In the case of a conventional grab, e.g. of a crane, there is the risk, when working in a scrap bunker, of this grab striking the wall of the scrap bunker and damaging the concrete in the process. In order to provide a remedy here, it is proposed according to the invention that the grab (8) be provided on the outside with elastic cushions (12, 14) or flexible linings (30) at the points where it could strike the wall. In this way, the impact energy can be absorbed. The hitherto conventional expensive lining with a wooden casing is thus dispensed with. The cushions (12, 14) and linings (30) can easily be exchanged when required without the operation of the scrap-handling plant having to be interrupted. <IMAGE>
