Abstract

In the case of a conventional grab, e.g. of a crane, there is the risk, when working in a scrap bunker, of this grab striking the wall of the scrap bunker and damaging the concrete in the process. In order to provide a remedy here, it is proposed according to the invention that the grab (8) be provided on the outside with elastic cushions (12, 14) or flexible linings (30) at the points where it could strike the wall. In this way, the impact energy can be absorbed. The hitherto conventional expensive lining with a wooden casing is thus dispensed with. The cushions (12, 14) and linings (30) can easily be exchanged when required without the operation of the scrap-handling plant having to be interrupted. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a gripper for a hoist, in particular for use in a waste treatment plant.

Hoists of the type considered here are used, among other things, in thermal waste disposal plants. The hoists are used to bring the delivered waste into a larger waste collection container, an intermediate storage facility or a bunker and / or to lift it out so that it can be recycled. Other waste treatment plants, e.g. Garbage intermediate stations are equipped with bunkers that are operated with hoists.

Such bunkers are usually made of concrete, i.e. a relatively hard material. If the gripper strikes the concrete wall, the concrete can be damaged during operation. Damage can also occur to the gripper itself.

In order to protect the concrete of such a bunker from mechanical damage, a Bongossi wooden cladding is occasionally chosen for the bunker area. This serves the sole purpose of protecting the bunker concrete from damage by the striking gripper. Such wooden cladding is relatively expensive. In the case of fires in the garbage, the wooden cladding can be damaged or even completely destroyed.

The object of the invention is to provide much more cost-effective measures by which the bunker concrete is protected from damage by the striking gripper. In addition, the gripper itself should also be protected from damage.

This object is achieved in that the gripper is provided with an elastic protective device in the region of its outer contact surfaces.

Instead of the bunker, the gripper of the hoist itself is present, e.g. of a crane or trolley, equipped with a protective device. This protective device is arranged on the outside in the area of the contact surfaces between the open and also the closed gripper on the one hand and the concrete wall of the bunker on the other.

The protective device preferably comprises a number of elastic pads or buffers which are suitably fastened on the outside on the contact surfaces of the gripper, for example by screwing, vulcanizing or gluing. These pads or buffers are preferably elastic on the inside and comparatively hard on the outside. They can be designed in particular as multi-layer rubber cladding.

Another elastic protective device preferably comprises a resilient covering. This can in particular have an outer covering part which is resiliently held on the surface of the gripper. When the gripper strikes the bunker wall, the cladding part yields resiliently.

Further advantageous refinements are characterized in the subclaims.

The arrangement of an elastic protective device, preferably in the form of a plurality of elastic pads or rubber buffers or in the form of a resilient covering, on the gripper Advantage that the bunker is protected from damage in a much more cost-effective manner than damage by wooden cladding. In addition, a certain bunker volume, namely the portion that is allotted to the wooden cladding, is saved. Bunker fires do not incur unnecessary costs by replacing damaged wooden cladding. System downtimes due to repair work on the wood cladding can be avoided; when the gripper cladding is replaced, the waste treatment system can be kept in operation with the aid of a reserve hoist that is usually available. This is of enormous economic importance.

In Fig. 1, the bunker of a thermal waste disposal system shown in a side view is designated by 2. In the bunker 2, a hoist 6, in particular a trolley, runs on a horizontal rail 4. The hoist 6 is equipped with a gripper 8, which is shown once in the closed and once in the open representation. The walls of the bunker 2 are made of concrete. They must be protected from damage caused by the gripper 8 striking during operation.

In order to achieve this at a relatively low cost, the gripper 8 is provided with an elastic protective device in the area of its external contact surfaces - these are the surface parts of the gripper 8 with which it could touch the concrete walls of the bunker 2 in the open and closed position is generally designated 10. Specifically, the protective device 10 comprises a number of cushions 12 for protecting the concrete in the closed gripper position and a number of cushions 14 for protection in the open gripper position.

The individual pads or buffers 12, 14 are elastic on the inside and comparatively hard on the outside. In particular, the buffers 12, 14 each consist of a multi-layer rubber arrangement.

The individual buffers 12, 14 are glued on the outside to the contact surfaces, vulcanized or screwed to the relevant gripper parts with countersunk bolts. Depending on the design of the buffers 12, 14, welding or riveting is also possible. In addition, they are rounded on the outside to avoid premature wear. Both the gluing and vulcanization and the screwing together make it possible to replace the pads 12, 14 after a certain period of wear. The pads 12 can in particular be U-shaped parts which make the gripper joints movable.

In Fig. 2, a single pad 14 is shown in section. Here you can see again that this is rounded towards the outside. In the present case, it consists of two rubber layers 16 and 18, of which the inner layer 16 is a soft rubber and the outer layer 18 is a hard rubber. The hard rubber protects it Soft rubber from damage. In the present example, the rubber cushion 14 is arranged on the outer contact surface 20 of a claw 22 of the gripper 8, for example fastened by gluing. In addition or as an alternative, fastening by means of at least one countersunk screw 24 can also be provided. A plurality of screws 24 are preferably used. A washer 26 may be provided in the rubber layer 18 to protect this rubber layer 18. The screw 24 should be secured against twisting.

If the claw 22 strikes against a concrete wall, this is protected from damage by the buffering or elastic effect of the cushion 14.

The lining 30 comprises as essential elements a spacer sleeve 32 with a washer 34 formed on the head side, a plate spring 36 which forms a closed spring chamber 37 which is protected from dirt, so that no blocking by dirt residues can occur, a washer 38 and a screw 40. The heads the parts 32 and 40 are housed together in the depression of a recess (counterbore) 42 of a trim part 44 made of plastic or hardwood. The spacer sleeve 32 rests with its foot on the surface 20 of the claw 22. The end of the foot can be adapted to the surface shape. The plate spring 36 and the washer 38 are located between the surface 20 and the side of the cladding part 44 facing this surface 20. They are both pushed onto the foot of the spacer sleeve 32. The edge of the plate spring 36 lies on the surface 20. The washer 38 protects the trim part 44 from excessive stress. Instead of the plate spring 36, another spring can also be used Underlay, such as a coil spring, can be used. The trim part 44 is rounded to the outside. The foot of the screw 40 inserted through the spacer sleeve 32 is screwed into the claw 22 and secured in this claw 22, for example by welding spot, nut or adhesive securing.

A sleeve that corresponds to the sleeve 32 can preferably also be provided in the embodiment according to FIG. 2 instead of the washer 26.

It should be emphasized that - in deviation from Fig. 3 - the trim part 44 is provided with a plurality of spring devices 34, 36, 38, 40 which determine its resilient effect. These spring devices can be arranged side by side in a row.

If the claw 22 strikes against a concrete wall with the covering 30 attached, the covering part 44 together with the washer 38 moves against the force of the plate spring 36 along the spacer sleeve 32 in the direction of the surface 20. The impact energy is generated by the various spring devices 34 to 40 , but also caught by the surface deformation of the trim part 44.
