ία μέθοδος διά την παρασκευήν μιάς ενώσεως της σειράς της 3-οξυγονωθείσης-16-πρεγκνανυ-20-όνης επιλεγομένης εκ της ομάδος ήτις αποτελείται έκ των ενώσεων του τύπου (Ι) είς τον οποίον το R επιλέγεται εκ της ομάδος ήτις αποτελείται εξ υδρογόνου και ακυλίου ήτις περιλαμβάνει την επαφήν μιάς ενώσεως του τύπου (ΙΙ) είς τον οποίον το R έχει την ανωτέρω δοθείσαν σημασίαν μετά επαρκούς ποσότητος βρωμίου πρός σχηματισμόν μιάς 17-βρωμο-3-οξυγονωμένης ενώσεως ήτις έχει είς τον δακτύλιον D τον μερικόν τύπον (ΙΙΙ) είς τον οποίον το Υ είναι είς υποκαταστάτης επιλεγόμενος εκ της ομάδος ήτις αποτελείται εξ υδρογόνου και βρωμίου, την επαφήν της ρηθείσης 17-βρωνο-3-οξυγονωμένης ενώσεως με μίαν ιωδιούχον ένωσιν των μετάλλων των αλκαλιών πρός αντικατάστασινοιωνδήποτε 81-βρωμο-υποκαταστατών διά ιωδίου, σχηματιζομένης ούτω της αντιστοίχου-17-βρωμνο-21-ιωδο-ενώσεως, σχηματιζομένης ούτω της αντιστοίχου 17-βρωμο-21-ιωδο-ενώσεως υπό συνθήκας αντιδράσεως ικανά ίνα προκαλέσουν την αντικατάστασιν του ιωδίου διά υδρογόνου σχηματιζομένης ούτω μίας 17-μονοβρωμο-ενώσεως ήτις έχει είς τον δακτύλιον D τον μερικόν τύπο (ΙV) και την επαφήν της ρηθείσης 17-μονοβρωμο-ενώσεως με ένα παράγονα εφυδροαλογονώσεως πρός παραγωγήν μιάς ενώσεως της σειράς της 3-οξυγονωθείσης 16-πρεγκνενο-20-όνης επιλεγομένης εκ της ομάδος ήτις αποτελείται εξ ενώσεων των τύπων (V), και (VI) ενθα το R έχει την ανωτέρω δοθείσαν σημασίαν.
