Abstract
Novelty: Bicycle's mechanism supplying reciprocating motion via pulleys. Constitution: The pedals (1A, 1B) adapted to the extremities of arms (2A, 2B) the other extremities of which (2A, 2B) are adapted to independent driving shafts (3A, 3B) which driving shafts are displaceable in the operational position at the framework of the construction so that -compared to ordinary bicycle's arms- the length of the foregoing arms (2A and 2B) can be multiplied; said driving shafts (3A, 3B) execute alternate or synchronical reciprocation; at the ends of the pedals (2A, 2B) there are adapted means such aswire ropes setting into operation tackle pulleys at the moving section of which there are adapted means such as wire ropes the other ends of which are adapted to wheels or sections of wheels transmitting there ciprocation of the (2A and 2B) via a return mechanism to a common shaft (6) where from the motion is conveyed -with suited transmission ratios and in the suited rotation sense- to the final shaft (8) producing the required work. Purpose: Torque multiplication for use in vehicles of any kind, in lightweight seacrafts, airplanes and flywheel drive engines as well.
