Abstract
he invented antiseismic seating base is composed of two plates 1,2 made of reinforced concrete and furnished rigid metal balls 3 set between them. The lower seat plate (sub-base) 2 is seated on theground 5, whereas the upper seat plate 1 of the building is connected through springs 4 symmetrically positioned so as to feature similar rigidity towards the two vertical directions of the building, and through the anchoring wall 6 made of reinforced concrete and caulked on the ground 15 so as to accurately follow the movement of this last. Under earthquake loadings, the under development moving energy of the building is damped by the dynamic energy of the springs 4, which, due to the balls mediation 3, they are deformed in direction opposite to that of the building movement. The advantages of the invention are that it practically allows full damping of the horizontal seismic vibration component chiefly when a subground construction that we call "reversed glass" is constructed under the antiseismic seating base. This construction is composed of a cylindrical wall 13 made of reinforced concrete, the shoe pad 14 and the plate 12 positioned over this last. Thanks to symmetry, said construction exhibits similar vibration period towards all directions. Said antiseismic seating base can be also utilized for the seating of individual sensitive objects, inside or outside buildings. The mathematical formula characterizing the invention is the following: T=4 VB(gK), where T is the prevalent characteristic vibration period of the ground 15, B the weight of the building and the seat plate 1, K the overall rigidity of the springs 4 shown by direction, and g the acceleration of the gravity (g=9,8m/sec2).
