Abstract

he invention relates to a mechanical apparatus and method of cleaning carpets from solid residues adhered deep to the basis and surface of the carpet's pile. The cleaning process is mechanical and the cleaning method consists in flexing the carpetfor the piles to be opened. At the point where the pile is opened, strong air stream issued from the air nozzle (K10) is blown and strong vibration is applied to detach residues from carpet. A metal beam, having the shape of an inversed delta letter(A1) initiated by the vibrator A3, accomplishes the flexing and vibration of the carpet. Afterwards, the scraping cylinder K2, which bears asymmetrical metal ribs, scrapes the piles to remove fluff and hair therefrom. The cleaning apparatus in question is a unified complex characterised by an upper and a lower part. The upper part opens for the carpet's placing and entrains -when opened- all related mechanisms. In operational condition, the cleaning apparatus is closed and enclosed in a protective shell. Detached dirties are removed by the sucker K9.
