Abstract
he ophiolite is an igneous rock coming from the Jurassic period and is mainly composed of gabbros, diabases and serpentines. It is used as a building material usable in concrete applications and in forming sub-layers and fillings. There is no need of explosives and crushers for its production; mere loading thereof suffices because its granularity is naturally graduated. Furthermore, said igneous rock can be used in preliminary works (roads, plots, buildings) and prior to the application of asphalt, cement, stones, tiles etc, or as an admixture to other sticking materials, such as cement, asphalt, glue etc. Furthermore, it can replace the three alpha material of the carry at far lesser cost and it proves to be ideal for the formation of great-scale fillings and ornamental elements.
