Abstract

999,978. Converting. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. March 30, 1962 [March 30, 1961], No. 12224/62. Heading H2F. [Also in Division H3] In a sawtooth current generator intended for use on two alternative supplies of different voltage, the supply boosting circuit is arranged to be disconnected when operating on the higher voltage supply. In Fig. 2, switch 1 is set to the lower position when operating from a 6 v. battery 2. Transistor 6 is periodically made conductive so as to generate a linearly changing current in transformer 15. Capacitor 7 provides a resonant return each time transistor 6 is made non-conductive, diodes 8, 9 becoming conductive so as to charge the supply boosting capacitor 10. When a 12 v. battery is used at 2, switch 1 is set to its upper position, energy during the flyback being returned to the battery 2. Deflection coils 5 may be capacitively or inductively coupled to transformer 15. Alternatively the transformer 15 may be eliminated. In Fig. 4, other stages 11 of a television receiver are supplied with 12 v. and further states 12 with 6 v. irrespective of whether a 6 or 12 v. battery is used at 2. The output from an auxiliary winding 17 is rectified at 18 and used to charge an auxiliary accumulator 16. The E.H.T. supply for a cathode-ray tube may also be derived from transformer 15. Fig. 5 (not shown) relates to another arrangement using a double-wound transformer.
