Abstract

999,495. Valves. SCHEIDT & BACHMANN G.m.b.H. March 31, 1964 [Nov. 29, 1963], No. 13188/64. Heading F2V. The discharge nozzle 16 of a valve 1a is equipped with a presetting mechanism and a device automatically cutting off liquid flow when a given level has been reached in the receiving container. The valve has a guard 2 surrounding an actuating lever 3 embodying a hinged stop 4, which, when the nozzle is in the downward or discharging position, swings into an inoperative position enabling the lever 3 to be actuated and held open or partly open by a pivoted latch 6 engaging one of two pins 9a and 9b on the guard. A pivoted release 10 with a part 15 is provided and if the valve is replaced on the hook in the open position, the release 10 pivots and the part 15 impinges against the hook, and dislodges the latch 6. The latter may be manually released before returning the valve to the hook.
