Abstract

997,030. Rotary pumps. TECHNICON INSTRUMENTS CORPORATION. Apr. 19, 1963 [May 24, 1962], No. 15473/63. Heading F1F. Fluid-pumping and mixing apparatus comprises a plurality of flexible tubes 20 carried by a panel 10 which is detachably mounted on a frame 12 supporting chain-driven rollers 16 and a spring-loaded platen 22. Deformation of tubes 20 between rollers 16 and platen 22 conveys a plurality of fluids to a mixing coil 62, 64, 66 and thence to a chemical analyzer e.g. a colorimeter (not shown), through a nipple 68. Rollers 16 and driving-chains 18 are attached to frame 12 by a pivot 96 whereby they can be raised clear of tubes 20 by a handle 94. Panel 10 includes an opening 24 through which platen 22 and rollers 16 pass when panel 10 is removed from frame 12. Pins 92 on platen 22 engage with holes 90 in holding members 86a, 86b for tubes 20.
