Abstract

969,375. Flexible tube pumps. TECHNICON INSTRUMENTS CORPORATION. April 5, 1962 [April 24, 1961], No. 13202/62. Heading F1F. A flexible tube pump mounted on a casing containing an electric driving motor-comprises a cylinder 28 (Fig. 2), on the outside of which are mounted two lengths 46, 50 of flexible tube which pass through slots 42 in the cylinder and are held by collars 48. Rollers 60 are mounted on arms 64 (Figs. 2 and 7) hinged at 68 to a rotatable plate 52. Under the plate 52 are four overlapping cam plates 74 (Fig. 3), each pivoting at one end about a screw 84 and having an S-shaped slot 78. Pins 92 fixed to a plate integral with a handle 88 engage the slots 78, so that movement of the handle causes the cam plates 74 to pivot outwardly, engage the roller pivot pins 62, and lift the rollers from the flexible tubes. Movement of the handle 88 also operates a switch 96 to stop the drive motor. Specification 774,711 is referred to.
