Abstract
996,834. Conveyers. O. OHRNELL. July 9, 1963, No. 27207/63. Heading B8A. A rod 1 provides a conveyer for suspension loop load carriers, e.g. coat hangers. The rod is inclined sufficiently (e.g. 1 to 2 degrees) to establish a preferred direction of sliding movement under gravity, but rotation of the rod by motor 3 is necessary to overcome friction before conveying movement takes place. The motor speed may be varied and the rod inclination varied or reversed. In Fig. 1 the rotated rod is used to transfer load carriers between a fixed gravity slide rod 4 and a screw conveyer 5. Fig. 2 depicts a storage conveyer in which a screw feeds the rod in its fall line position and receives load carriers from the rod in the latter's brokon line position.
