Abstract
<PICT:0996343/C6-C7/1> Protective anodes, each comprising a number of individual parts forming a chain 1, are installed and simultaneously safeguarded in ships' tanks by lowering them down into a permanently mounted tubulor cage 2 of electrically insulating, corrosion-proof material, the cage extending, preferably vertically, through the whole ship's tank to which it is fastened at least at its upper and lower ends, e.g. by terminating flange 5 to upper part 4 and by transverse stays 3. The anode parts are consecutively joined at connections 6, the chain being finally electrically connected to fastening devices in the tank such as flange 5 and contact lead 10.
