996, 275. Apparatus for measuring relative humidity. WOOL INDUSTRIES RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. May 1, 1964 [April 20, 1963], No. 15667/63. Heading G1S. Apparatus for measuring the relative humidity in the interior of textile packages comprises a probe 1 having a perforated end 2 containing a temperature measuring element 3, wet and dry bulb temperature elements 5, 6 and a pump 9, the parts being linked by flexible tubing 4, 8. The temperatures are measured electrically by Wheastone bridge means. In operation, the probe is inserted in the package and air is drawn through the probe by the pump 9 and past the wet and dry bulb elements, the internal temperature of the package being measured by thermometer 3. The relative humidity of the package may be determined from these measurements.
